Math at Center Stage
Math Rocks teaches skills through a band-on-tour experience. From calculating ticket sales to tracking Spotify streams, each activity helps middle schoolers strengthen foundational math skills in ways that feel relevant, collaborative and fun.
How It Works
Activities serve groups of 4 students, a proven effective size for high-dosage tutoring.
- Ten lessons that solidify upper elementary math skills essential to cumulative learning
- Activities motivate students by showing the real-life relevance of order of operations, long division and factoring
- Gives students math fluency and “trilingual skills” in fractions, decimals and percents
- Optimal rollout first 2-3 weeks of the school year to unleash learning
- Also works for a full classroom or during flex time, study hall, resource room or school breaks
The Kit
Bedtime Math, a 501(c)(3) foundation, makes Math Rocks affordable by subsidizing the kit cost, which is only available to public schools and accredited private schools in the US.
Schools make a cost-share contribution of $50 per kit, plus $10 for shipping. That’s just $1.25 per student per activity.
Each kit includes:
- Materials for 10 activities
- Discussion prompts for small-group math talk
- Digital teacher guides
- Professional development (optional)
